A belated happy 2026 to you all! I hope you all enjoyed your Christmas and the new year . Ours was more relaxing than usual this year, the parents joined us for Christmas day and our daughter came to stay which was lovely, plus we had our Grandson for a week after Boxing Day , which was great because the weather , although cold, was dry , which made it much easier to get out and to allow a seven year old to get rid of some energy ! January has been spent preparing two new kits for the Etsy shop . The Herdwick Flock picture kit and a 3D kit a needle felted Teddy Bear, which comes with a four part tutorial video , like the hare kit and others already in the shop . The picture kits with the Lake District and Herdwick sheep themes have been very popular and it was time to offer something new , but keeping to the theme . I had been thinking about putting a bear kit together for some time, so I'm happy it has finally come together. This is a straight forward project employing the basic techniques used for building up heads, body and limbs and also the facial features. The fun part is adding the details to make your own character and change the scarf or ribbon. The video tutorials are always well received so I'm hoping this one is too. I don't have as much patience with the video editing as needle felting so I hand most of that part over to Richard. Richard designed The Herdwick Flock picture kit, it is a familiar scene that we see on our fell walks. Both kits are now available in my Etsy shop . Click on the an image below for details . Spring is now in sight, the tulips and crocus are peeping through, I have been sowing some seeds and it always feels exciting at this time of year the anticipation of warmer and longer days. I'm getting eager to be in the garden more but whilst we still have a few more wintery weeks I shall enjoy my needle felting and on the good days to head for the fells. I'll catch up with you again soon ! Best Wishes .
